What to Expect
At Aldersgate, we welcome all who are at any stage of life and looking for peace and the comfort of Jesus. We are glad you are here! We are fully accessible church.
Families are welcome - we have a nursery for children under 3 and rocking chairs in the Narthex. We have activity bags for those who would like to remain in the sanctuary.
Children are invited to come forward for a children's message and then attend Children's Church.
The liturgy for the worship can be found in a bulletin and on the screen. We have large print bulletins and hearing devices.
You can expect passionate music led by the choir and praise band. You can expect a message related to life as a disciple of Christ.
Our Mission:
Aldersgate United Methodist Church welcomes and leads all people to Jesus Christ in order to
Encourage them to worship;
Enrich them through Bible study and prayer; and,
Empower them through giving, fellowhip and service that touches the lives of others.
Our Story
As a thriving church family of all ages and stages of life, those who attend Aldersgate are encouraged to become faithful disciples of Christ by following the example of Jesus: to love, pray and serve one another as well as the community in which we live.
The original congregation met at DeVeaux school in 1947, and Aldersgate United Methodist Church was founded in 1948. Ground breaking for a church home took place in the mid 1950's. We are celebrating our 70th Birthday this year and next. We thank God for the many ways we are blessed to be a blessing.
Our roots go back to the founder of Methodism, John Wesley. We are named after the street in London, England where his heart was strangely warmed and he had a "conversion experience."
